“The idea for the fall collection started with a pair of miner overalls that we found in a vintage store– they had extra pockets and details that we loved. At that point, I started going through my grandfather’s turn-of-the-century photos for more inspiration. The result is a collection that mixes thermals with cluny cotton lace and small floral prints with lots of plaids, flannels and textures in dark reds, dark navy, light blues, mustard yellow, gray, and ivory,” said Ellen, who co-designs the line with Lydia Dorsey.

With a passion for kid-friendly style and the unexpected, interior designer and children’s clothing designer Molly Payne has channeled her creativity with daughter Ayla’s nursery. The owner of Zeal Interiors and co-owner of A.Bird, a higher-end children’s clothing collection making its debut this fall, Molly has created a relaxing sanctuary for her family.
Residing in St. Augustine, FL, Molly designed Ayla’s nursery to have an organic modern design using natural, simple materials. With a hand-carved bird mobile (Ayla’s nickname is Bird) and a 200 year-old heart peck cypress wood crib made by Molly’s husband, the minimalist nursery reflects Molly’s design aesthetic.
Together with friend Patricia Cammereri, also a mother to a young daughter, the two women created the whimsical collection A.Bird. Set to hit stores this July, the classic, quality keepsake collection features sophisticated pieces with an edgy modern twist.
