Lively & Floral: Pippen Lane Debuts Signature Collection for Spring/Summer ‘12

After over a decade as a New Orleans Garden District shopping destination, Pippen Lane has branched out to create its own signature label featuring fashion-forward, bold designs by Anna Beth Goodman. The Pippen Lane Collection will make its debut this spring/summer ’12 and pays homage to the Big Easy with fresh & whimsical prints intertwined with classic, wearable styles. Available in sizes newborn to size 10, the Pippen Lane Collection’s retail prices range from $16 to $70.

The Spring/Summer collection features styles inspired by unique New Orleans neighborhoods, streets, and wildlife- including Garden District Floral, Arabella, Peacock Feather, and Fancy Bird. Their signature layettes feature the iconic fleur-de-lis, as well as bee, crown, and bear embroidery on footies, polo shortalls, skirted one-pieces, and blankets. For older children, Pippen Lane features rompers, capris, shorts, tunics, and ruffled tees in lively patterns including carnival beads and vibrant florals.

“All of my collections may not always have a direct New Orleans reference, but you can always count on the city giving me the ultimate inspiration,” said Goodman, wife of actor John Goodman and mother of one daughter, Molly Evangeline.

Pippen Lane was conceived nearly 14 years ago, when Goodman noticed a lack of European children’s clothing options in New Orleans for her daughter. She set out to create a shopping emporium on Magazine Street, offering cosmopolitan and traditional Southern styles, including Lylian heirloom dresses.

Pippen Lane’s debut collection will hit stores this January and is available at www.pippenlane.com. Pippen Lane’s retail store is located at 2929 Magazine Street in New Orleans.
