Magnolia’s Newest Client: Right Bank Babies
Heidi Klum‘s adorable daughter Leni loves her reversible Right Bank Babies dress!
Right Bank Babies designs beautiful, classic children’s clothing with functionality in mind. While most kids outgrow outfits within weeks, Right Bank Babies’ designers (two busy Los Angeles moms) created a style that grows with the child.
Their signature piece is the reversible dress. Since babies’ and toddlers’ job is to make a mess, they typically wear multiple outfits a day – so we designed our to be two outfits in one. Once the first side is dirtied you just flip it over for an entirely different and clean look. The fabrics are distinctive and have a retro feel from big 60’s prints to preppy pinstripes -all in prints kids and mommies love. The dress is great on its own or layered over a blouse or hoodie. As your daughter grows it becomes a great smock top over pants or jeans. It is a great layering piece and is wearable all year around.

We’re happy to add aquaswimwear as one of our newest clients. With over 20 years of success as the designer who launched Nautica ladies swimwear and Jones New York swimwear (not to mention designing for Speedo and Sessa) under her belt, Natalie Walker has launched her own collection named aquaswimwear. Walker’s stylish, fit-conscious collection is created with matching mother-daughter suits and hip separates for women and girls. Special consideration for post-baby body issues is key.
The aquaswimwear collection was born after Walker organized a preschool fundraiser for her son’s school, where she first sold her little girl swimwear designs. Her collection was a huge hit and they successfully raised $6,000 for the school. Soon Walker came up with the idea of matching mother-daughter swimwear—now her daughter asks her every day “Mom, what are we wearing today?”
The aquaswimwear line is made up of girls one and two-piece styles available in sizes 2-14. Ladies tankinis (with built-in shelf bras and adjustable straps) and two-piece styles are offered as separates for this season in sizes XS-XL . Coordinating skirts and board shorts are available for both age groups. Approximate prices ranges are $36 for girl and $84 for lady/mom styles. Skirts and board shorts are $22 to $45 respectively.

Observe: the terrifying Bra strapus, of the fauna family Stickusoutium.
Its fierce attacks on peaceful neighbors such as the Shoulderus bareus and Tank topus are well documented. A modern-day cousin, Strapus seethroughosus, has given rise to countless uh-people-can-totally-still-see-them horror stories.
But now comes a deceivingly delicate-looking new breed of removable, interchangeable Strapus (commonly known by the name StrapCouture) made of filigree, stones, suede, and leather-woven chain link — meant to be seen but remarkably compatible with spaghetti straps and other outerwear.
Amazingly, they’re adaptable to any climate: arid (the racer-back regions), tropical (sub-shoulder terrain), and temperate (double-layered under tanks and boat-neck collars, just for the look of it).
There is still much to learn from these fascinating little symbiotes. Still, with a little luck on their part (and a lot more responsible dressing on ours) we may be in for a better-looking future.
An elusive, welcome state of being known as Perpetualus chicus.
Available online at strapcouture.com.
