March 31, 2014- Livie & Luca has announced the recall of two styles from their Spring 2014 line, the Carta and Cotton styles, in all sizes and colors. A metal thread was mistakenly used as a stay in the manufacturing of some of these shoes. Due to the potential safety and comfort risk for children, Livie & Luca is voluntarily recalling Carta and Cotton styles from the current season purchased at livieandluca.com, other e-commerce boutiques, and brick & mortar stores nationwide. This recall covers shoes with dates stamped 06/2013 and up.
If you have either style in your possession, Livie & Luca asks that you please dispose of these shoes due to safety concerns. In accordance with CPSIA code, selling of recalled products is illegal. For safe measure, Livie & Luca is also contacting the Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC).
What should you do if you own the recalled shoes?
If you have purchased these styles through one of Livie & Luca’s retailers, please contact them directly for instructions on how to handle a credit or replacement. If you do not hear from the retailer by next week, please contact Livie & Luca’s customer service at [email protected].
If you have purchased through Livie & Luca, you have already been contacted via email and snail mail.
To rectify the situation, Livie & Luca is producing more of their best-selling Carta Fuchsia and Carta Gray as an option for replacement. Livie & Luca is not producing additional Cotton styles this season, but will offer Cotton again in Spring of 2015.
Livie & Luca is deeply sorry for any inconvenience or discomfort this may have caused their loyal customers and are working diligently to prevent further safety issues in the manufacturing process of their shoes. For any questions or concerns, please contact [email protected].

In 2007, Go Gently Baby set out to create an organic, sustainable, and fashion-minded children’s clothing brand that reflects their message of “going gently.” By making a gentle impact on the earth with their eco-friendly practices- from using recycled paper hangtags to recycling leftover fabric remnants- Go Gently Baby embodies their philosophy in big and small ways.
Proudly made in the USA, Go Gently Baby sources only the finest certified organic fabrics to design simple yet stylish garments for infants, toddlers, and children up to 8 years old. Initially an infant-only brand, Go Gently Baby quickly expanded to meet the demand for kids fashion at reasonable price points with the added bonus of being made from organic cotton. While many brands outsource to other countries and have little quality control, Go Gently Baby keeps it local by manufacturing in the heart of Los Angeles.
“Go Gently is all about making decisions that seem ‘right’ and doing right by our world, our communities, and those within our path,” said Kristin Coia, owner/designer. “We think it’s important to not just exist as a clothing brand but to set forth with thoughts and ideas about how to make a difference.”
In addition to earth-friendly practices, Go Gently Baby focuses on creating timeless designs with a touch of edge for boys & girls. From soft jersey jumpsuits to sweet A-line dresses, Go Gently is all about classic silhouettes, mix & match separates, and comfort for the little ones. Their attention to gentle kindness and sustainable fashion has garnered the attention of The Martha Stewart Show, DailyCandy, and Pregnancy & Newborn Magazine, to name a few.
