The Longer Version: Our Hollywood beginning
In late 2006, Magnolia Public Relations was conceived in Los Angeles by Adrienne Dorsey as a way to connect fashion and lifestyle brands to the media. Print was the most prevalent form of desired media at the time, followed by celebrities. Their first children’s fashion client, Right Bank Babies, sought services to continue the momentum after a celebrity child was photographed wearing their signature reversible dress.
In a few short months, Right Bank Babies was on the Today Show and in the pages (and covers!) of several major magazines, including Parents, Baby Couture, Earnshaw’s, Child, Los Angeles Times, People, Us Weekly, Pregnancy & Newborn, Parenting, American Baby, and countless others.
As they expanded their collection and opened a flagship store at Hollywood + Highland, Magnolia PR helped further establish and grow their brand presence. In 2009, Right Bank Babies was named Best Children’s Clothing Label in the Best of LA issue of Los Angeles Magazine.
The Parisian-inspired brand was featured on A-list celebrity children and in over 100 magazine editorials and on the cover of 14 major publications, with media accolades continuing to pour in for years to come.
Eventually, they were acquired by an investor who disclosed they only agreed to meet with the brand after seeing their impressive media coverage. Press opens doors.
Changing with the times: Magnolia Public Relations today
As the media and society as a whole rapidly transforms, Magnolia PR has also shifted their approach. Strategies and tactics have changed, but the end goal remains the same: building brands and cultivating consistent awareness. Now, more than ever, audiences want to know the story behind brands and their founders. Social media helps brands craft their own narrative and image. Digital media and fresh content is king. Influencers and tastemakers are here to stay.
Entrepreneurs are building creative empires and services that deserve to be known. This evolution led to adding on a new focus to our services: experts.
Social Proof
In the summer of 2020, we were approached by a female founder in the Bay Area looking to launch her virtual consultancy. She was hoping to establish herself as a fashion & lifestyle expert, highlighting her background in retail, wedding event planning, and multi-cultural upbringing. In just a few weeks, Business Insider profiled a day in her life as she launched her business while balancing motherhood…all in a pandemic.
Soon after, she was quoted in Today, Fast Company, CNN Underscored, InStyle, Insider, Better Homes & Gardens, Reader’s Digest, BareMinerals, Yahoo, Byrdie, Brides, and USA Today, to name a few. Her quick and sustained success from our expert media positioning allowed her to take her fledgling business full-time.
More Success With Thought Leaders
The following year, we met with a parenting therapist seeking to transition from her demanding career as a clinical social worker in New York City to pursue her virtual consulting business full-time. With our expert positioning, she was able to fulfill this goal in less than a year.
In the past few years of working together, Magnolia PR positioned our client as the go-to expert in the parenting therapist field and secured top tier coverage in new media. Press outcomes include Parents, Insider, National Geographic Family, Yahoo, New York Family, The Bump, Care.com, Bella Magazine, Well + Good, Giddy, HerMoney, Ebony, LittleThings, Verywell Mind, HuffPost, TinyBeans, WeddingWire, USA Today, Motivational Mondays podcast, and more.
We also successfully pitched our client as an official review board member of the respected Verywell Family publication, a part of Dotdash Meredith – the largest digital and print publisher in America.
It’s clear there are many experts in need of public relations services to increase brand perception, visibility, build thought leadership, consumer trust, and ultimately reach their target markets. We are happy to partner with changemakers and leaders in diverse fields to amplify their message through earned media. Interested? Please schedule a call here.

About Magnolia PR’s Founder
Adrienne Dorsey grew up near Portland, Oregon, and studied Writing/Literature and business at George Fox University. After graduating with honors, she headed south to Los Angeles and received her MBA with a focus on marketing at Woodbury University. During graduate school, Adrienne was introduced to the world of public relations through a PR manager position at a well-known Hollywood PR agency focused on women’s fashion and accessories. Adrienne worked with stylists and celebrities that are now household names, leveraging those connections when she set out on her own entrepreneurial path.
In late 2006, Adrienne founded Magnolia PR as a way to creatively connect brands to their desired media. After nearly two decades in the industry and countless press mentions later, she is grateful to strategically work with up-and-coming and established experts + brands to help them achieve their dreams.
Her expertise has been featured in Earnshaw’s Magazine, PR Daily, and most recently on the expert panel for Playtime New York. She divides her time between the Hollywood Hills and Manhattan, equally enjoying walks around Lake Hollywood Reservoir and afternoons at The Met.
Adrienne is a longtime supporter of fellow female founders and member of influential women’s groups, including Entreprenista, Smarty LA, Savor The Success, Step Up Women’s Network, and Ellevate.
NY Times bestselling author Jen Sincero is credited with guiding Adrienne to launch Magnolia PR when she personally led her Ladies Who Launch incubator program back in 2006.
Adrienne is also a professional writer whose work has appeared in Poster Child Magazine, LAist, Babiekins Magazine, and more. Her expertise in fashion and lifestyle brands led to her being chosen by Informa Markets to write content for their Children’s Club and MAGIC Las Vegas trade shows in 2020 and 2021.
