March 31, 2014- Livie & Luca has announced the recall of two styles from their Spring 2014 line, the Carta and Cotton styles, in all sizes and colors. A metal thread was mistakenly used as a stay in the manufacturing of some of these shoes. Due to the potential safety and comfort risk for children, Livie & Luca is voluntarily recalling Carta and Cotton styles from the current season purchased at livieandluca.com, other e-commerce boutiques, and brick & mortar stores nationwide. This recall covers shoes with dates stamped 06/2013 and up.

If you have either style in your possession, Livie & Luca asks that you please dispose of these shoes due to safety concerns. In accordance with CPSIA code, selling of recalled products is illegal. For safe measure, Livie & Luca is also contacting the Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC).

What should you do if you own the recalled shoes?

If you have purchased these styles through one of Livie & Luca’s retailers, please contact them directly for instructions on how to handle a credit or replacement. If you do not hear from the retailer by next week, please contact Livie & Luca’s customer service at [email protected].

If you have purchased through Livie & Luca, you have already been contacted via email and snail mail.

To rectify the situation, Livie & Luca is producing more of their best-selling Carta Fuchsia and Carta Gray as an option for replacement. Livie & Luca is not producing additional Cotton styles this season, but will offer Cotton again in Spring of 2015.

Livie & Luca is deeply sorry for any inconvenience or discomfort this may have caused their loyal customers and are working diligently to prevent further safety issues in the manufacturing process of their shoes. For any questions or concerns, please contact [email protected].
