Bobinette is a cosmopolitan collection of boys and girls clothing that draws inspiration from designer Lorraine Le Tac’s Paris upbringing. Seamlessly blending elegant French style with vibrant colors and playfulness, Bobinette is available in sizes for newborns to 8 years old for boys and 6 months to 4T for girls. The spring/summer collection retails from $14 to $75 at select boutiques.

The idea for Bobinette was born when Lorraine wasn’t able to find any fun boy styles for her first son, Spencer, and resorted to having her mother send her colorful clothes from Paris. After the birth of her second son, Matisse, Lorraine launched Bobinette to fill the stateside style void in little boys clothing.

“They both are typical little boys– active, messy, and rambunctious but very handsome!” said Lorraine, when asked how her sons influence her design choices. “I try to design stylish clothes that are easy-to-wear. I favor natural materials– cotton, linen– because they are comfortable and age beautifully.”

Lorraine drew inspiration for the current Bobinette collection from vivid colors, patterns, vintage objects, travels to exotic locales including Morocco and Sri Lanka, and simply wandering the streets of Paris. Styles include gingham, striped, and plaid button-downs, gaucho tees, twill shorts, and overalls for boys and gingham dresses with lace trim, knit ruffle dresses, and matching bloomers for girls.

The name Bobinette comes from the French tale “The Little Red Riding Hood” and also means “little face” in French. All Bobinette garments are made in the USA, and the organic baby layette is an eco-friendly option.
