Mad Men Meets the Playground!
Reminiscent of Mad Men at the playground, Right Bank Babies’ Spring ’10 collection features mid-century mini dresses, Cuban shirts, and flat front slim leg pants, as well as updates on their signature reversible styles. Colorblock dresses, short shorts, and boatneck reversible shifts round out the ‘60s-inspired collection. Right Bank Babies’ size range has also expanded, boys sizes range from newborn to 6 years, and girls newborn to 12 years, due to popular demand.
Right Bank Babies’ reversible smock dress, starting at $42 retail, now buttons down the back, and co-designers Ellen Uzarowicz and Lydia Dorsey have created innovative styles that are reversible front to back. For example, a blouse that buttons up the back can be easily turned around and become a light jacket.
Price-conscious customers love the two-outfits-in-one reversible styles, which also include skirts and rompers. Another new feature is all Right Bank Babies pants, shorts, and jeans have adjustable waists—great for prolonging their lifespan.
“I think this year we really streamlined the line to the pieces that everyone loves,” said Ellen, who created the Los Angeles label in 2005. “We’ve kept the reversibles, but added some simple summer styles that are like nothing else on the market.”
In Right Bank Babies’ newly opened store in Hollywood, customers will also be able to take advantage of store exclusives—one-of-a-kind dresses in vintage and hard-to-find fabrics and laces.
